Case 1. female ceo for start-up
CHRONIC CONSTIPATION, wind & difficult menopause
Female professional presenting with severe chronic constipation. Symptoms were improved by large quantities of water intake, but this was impractical. Symptoms were exacerbated by all types of dietary fibre, making it challenging to have a healthy wholefood diet. This was the clients main objective.
Client had trialled dairy and gluten free without much success. The client had also been taking Thyroid medication x 20yrs.
We ran a comprehensive stool analysis, which indicated the presence of ‘deficiency dysbiosis’ (lack of good gut bacteria), slowing down gut transit. From the history of thyroid medication a few clues from the stool test analysis we could deduce that this client also required more ‘bile support’.
The client was put on a adapted semi-IBS diet for three months, with supplements to support production of stomach acid, bile flow and bowel movements.
By the second session, bloating was significantly reduced, constipation was more or less eliminated as long as she took her supplement. As a bonus, she felt more clear headed and had more energy. She also had no more gnawing feeling in her stomach after eating, something she had been unaware of previously.
Step 2 in the treatment was re-building good gut bacteria which we did in a gradual and methodical . This client had to start on a microdose for 2 months before being able to up the dose and gain real benefits.
By the 3rd session this client could go to the toilet without the help of a herbal gut mover, and she was overjoyed with this progress. The client then went away on a maintenance program to continue to improve gut transit, and is making lifechanging progress.
Case 2. female consultant
severe bloating with constipation
Experiencing severe chronic constipation & significant 24 hour bloating. This negatively affected her body image.
Constipation marginally improved with high water intake but worsened with all types of dietary fiber. She wanted to be more plant based but was unable to tolerate beans pulses - being forced to be more meat based.
Analysis: SIBO + gut bacteria pathogens, likely causing the constipation and food reactions.
This client was started on our 3 Step Gut programme, starting with an adapted SIBO diet + gut ‘cleanse’ for 3 months. She initially experienced a bit of worsening of symptoms, and her supplements were tweaked with more regular sessions to support her. She found the first few months a little stressful, as found it hard to resist jumping into her plant based diet straight away, but with more regular sessions we helped her gradually phase it in line with her tolerance building.
The second phase of treatment focused on gut supporting foods and continuing to nurture her microbiome and re-introduction of some of her foods, whilst still moderating fructose from fruit, which she continued to show a reduced tolerance too.
Case study 3. female accountant
auto-immune psoriasis
A female professional with low mood, a sudden severe rash covering palm of hands, shins, and arms - diagnosed as psoriasis but undetermined.
Health assessment identified undiagnosed, significant constipation with regularly skipping 2-3 days, followed by small bowel movements.
Client objective was to be free of the rash in palm of hands in particular. She had a new job and was on sick leave due to inability to type.
The client was prescribed probiotics, a cleanse at first with a focus on bowel movements, and a natural topical oil to help suppress the rash from the outside.
Progress: This client made quick progress with a significant and gradual elimination of the rash, which the client was over-joyed with. She shared with us that she had been worried the rash would last for life (having been given the auto immune diagnosis). By her 4th session, she felt confident continuing on her own with the tools we had given her.
Case 4. female ceo for charity
arthritis & chronic pain
A female with severe lumbar spine arthritis, experiencing severe pain and weight gain.
History of emotional/addictive-like eating, vegetarian but health conscious.
Analysis findings: identified insulin resistance, Mild digestive imbalance, inflammation and imbalance in fatty acids.
Client objective was to reduce back-pain and she was very concerned about the sudden loss of mobility.
Client opted out of carrying out any tests and this was a straight forward case, so would could get straight to the diet.
Protocol: We put her on a low glycemic diet to reduce her inflammation, adapted portion sizes, reduce yogurt intake and increased protein significantly.
Recovery: The client made very good progress fast, reporting a complete resolution of back-pain by her 2nd session.
